Since 1979 Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service has been serving the citizens of Chesapeake, VA with emergency communications support as well as promoting amateur radio to the public.
The club operates three Yaesu System Fusion repeaters operating on 146.820, 145.150, and 444.000. We also maintain a city owned Repeater at 146.610 as well as an APRS digipeter W4CAR-5.
Our clubhouse has a fully functional radio station with four HF radios including the new Icom 7300 for the use of our membership.
We host several amateur radio training classes every year as well as participation in the annual Field Day exercises. If you want to become a ham or are looking for club to call home, please contact us.
