Members of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association- MVPA - will “re-trace” the historic Transcontinental Convoy of 1920 following the BankHead Highway from Washington, DC to San Diego, CA. At the same time, we join the celebration of “Spirit of 45” honoring all Veterans for the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII. In connection to those events, there will be numerous special event stations operating along the convoy route for this month long event- including 2 bonus stations and a “clean sweep” endorsement. The BankHead Highway was one of the first roads in the creation of the “interstate” highway system.
