June, 2011, N2DM 1B WNY, at Arkport, NY, 1800 foot elevation.

Operator: Dale, in 1Bravo battery catagory. Used FT-817 transceiver, staight key and Heil HM4 microphone. Antenna - 100 ft Inverted "L", with MFJ 901B tuner. N2DM's portable shack was a "Karavan" snowmobile trailer with an "EZ up" for a cover, and blue tarps around the outside for weather protection. (It did rain.) This worked out for nice cozy operating position. N2DM was powered by combination of gell cells and a deep cycle RV battery. Really awesome conditions using batteries, no generator hash for really quiet receive conditions.  Operated 15 out of 24 hours of exercise. Found CW QRP to be more efficient than phone. For 2012, will explore using solar panels, or windpower, or both!

Looking forward to 2012. Thanks to all for being there and working N2DM. The highlight was working "W1AW" Sunday morning. What an awesome signal to WNY from CT.
