07/04/2010 | K4KNS The Columbia County ARC held its Field Day event up at LakeThurmond at the Points West Army Resort in Appling, GA. K4KNS operated 2A with GOTA and Satellite stations. We had over 50 club members and guests visit and operate with us during the weekend drill. We shared a fantastic evening meal that brought in folks from all over the county. Our VE test session during Field Day yielded two new Technician and two new General class operators. We had a great time and made over 300 phone and CW contacts despite the lighting storms that shut us down periodically throughout the weekend. We all agreed later that we had an excellent time. -- K1OYQ
