01/02/2008 | K8JD Another great SKN. I only had a few hours t the beginning and a half hour here and there during the event to operate. Made 25 contacts. mostly short rag chews about some vintage gear that was being used.
The most interesting QSO and best fist was Duke,WA9WJB near Chicago who was using a home made key.
My operating bands were 160, 80 and 40M. I was thinking of trying 30M but just too many stations on the lower bands to leave.
I used my old TS520 on 80 and a TS440s between 160 and 40 M
The antennas were Dipoles for 80 and 160, on 40 I switched between a fullwave loop and a Butternut vertical for best signals.
I worked 2 of the K2A stations commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the founding of SKCC.
