01/02/2008 | N4KC My first SKN in more years than I care to remember! I see now what I've been missing. I had the old and the new, right there on my operating desk: a Lionel J-38 straight key that belonged to my dad, WA4AZJ (SK) and was my first Novice key in 1962, and a brand new K8RA P2 paddle that Santa brought me. It was tempting not to use the new paddle when my tennis elbow started acting up!

Best QSO and best fist both go to Red, K9FHV. He was using a Knight VFO driving a homebrew 6L6, and his 10 watts were 579 on 40. The slight chirp and pronounced drift didn't detract at all from a FB QSO!
