It was about 31 degrees Fahrenheit, cloudy, and a little snow. Eighty meters was very active, however I was operating a 40 meter whip antenna and a Ten-Tec Argosy. After six and a half hours I was becoming tired. Well I said, "one more CQ." And wouldn't you know it, a station returned my call. His signal was 599, and he sounded very close; unlike the other stations I heard from North Carolina or Maine. When K2JYV sent his QTH I had to laugh; his home was about two miles from my station.
