2004 ARRL Field Day

07/02/2004 | K3NHK This year, the St. Mary's County Amateur Radio Association used K3NHK as it's call sign. Although it does not lend itself to a pretty or easy CW contact, this vanity callsign has very deep sentimental value to those of us at NAS Patuxent River. KNHK is the ICAO Airfield Designator for the Naval Air Station! K3NHK is the call sign that we are going to use at the Museum for Naval Aviation Test and Develoment Museum.

SMCARA is located on a penusula in between the Patuxent and Potomac Rivers, about 65 miles SE of DC. Our location does not lend itself to making large numbers of contacts like Pike's Peak, or MT. Whitney (if anyone transmits from there!) So we focus on:
1) Eating well
2) Getting as many of the club members out as we can
3) Eating well
4) Trying to get as many of the bonus points as we can
5) Eating well
6) Having fun
We try to beat our score from last year (which wasn't hard this year). and hope to make contact with friends across the US like KF4LM who was working with KS0LV. -- KE4RTJ
