07/01/2004 | N5WF The Wichita Amateur Radio Society used a site in Burkburnett's (Texas) Friendship Community Park for its Field Day Operations this year. We had 15 operators participate and had over 30 visitors, including family members, to the site. The Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator for Wichita County (Texas), the City of Burkburnett's Emergency Management Coordinator, and the ARES District Emergency Coordinator stopped by for a visit.

We also used Field Day as a social gathering for the Society and cooked hot dogs for lunch and hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, and Dutch Oven cobbler (peach, apple, and cherry) for supper. -- N5DHG
