The Pratham satellite, built by students at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, is expected to launch on September 26 onboard the Indian PSLV-C35 mission. Pratham, a 300 × 300 × 300 millimeter satellite with a mass of 10 kilograms, aims to measure total electron count at an 800 kilometer (approximately 500 mile) altitude sun-synchronous orbit.

The CW beacon (35 WPM) will transmit continuously at 145.980 MHz, and the Institute seeks post-launch reports. The satellite’s 1200 bps FSK downlink on 437.455 MHz will be switched on only when the satellite is over France and India.
