The Story County Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) is an active club, offering a wide variety of opportunities for persons interested in amateur radio. Among our regular activities are monthly programs on technical topics, on-air radio operating activities, and sponsorship of ham radio license classes. SCARC hosts regular transmitter "fox" hunts throughout the year and is closely affiliated with Story County ARES. Unless otherwise noted on our website, the club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM, typically at Northcrest Community in Ames Iowa. Visitors are always welcome, and you do NOT need to be a member to participate in any of our activities.
